Hi Allwyn, The gspca driver / framework is now in the kernel and discussion about it shall occur in the LinuxTv mailing list (see http://linuxtv.org and http://vger.kernel.org/vger-lists.html#linux-media). So, I think that this list may be closed. Thank you. -- Ken ar c'hentañ | ** Breizh ha Linux atav! ** Jef | http://moinejf.free.fr/ |

Hi Allwyn, I agree with you that the list should be closed and the project be declared unmainstained. The spca50x projecthas had a relatively long and succesfull life, but all good things come to an end. Or in this case, the code lives on elsewhere, in the spirit of open source :-) Cheers, Tomas > From: Mr Allwyn Fernandes <web...@st...> > To: SPCA50x Linux Device Driver Development ><spc...@li...> > Sent: Thu, February 17, 2011 2:36:12 AM > Subject: [Spca50x-devs] Is anyone still using this list? > > As this list has not seen any traffic in over 6 months, and all development is > now being done on the v4l lists, I think my objections to shutting this list > down back in 2007 are now irrelevant. > > Is there anyone who thinks this list (and/or this sourceforge project in > general) should remain open? As this list has not seen any traffic in over 6 months, and all development is now being done on the v4l lists, I think my objections to shutting this list down back in 2007 are now irrelevant. Is there anyone who thinks this list (and/or this sourceforge project in general) should remain open? Specifically, Michel and Jef, are you still interested in having this mailing list around? If no-one has any objections, I will close this list on 31 March 2011, and put the project into unmaintained state. Thoughts? Cheers, Allwyn. -- Allwyn Fernandes Director Stobor Pty Ltd |

Even in this case, I could not open it with a webam program like cheese (/dev/video0 was grey). I tired it on Mandriva 2010 and Ubuntu 10.04 the windows driver is named zs211. Is there a way to get it working ? Many thanks Gerard |

Hello Shahar, A driver for this webcam is available (you may find it in the last gspca version that I have just uploaded - 2.9.6 - the subdriver is 'gspca_tasc.ko'). The only problem is that nobody could yet decode the images! (Jens, Jean-Yves, any news?) hi Jean-Francois, I finally got to my sister's computer. Installed ubuntu 9.10 yesterday to see the webcam displaying random patterns unrelated to an image (looks like memory garbage). I then booted into windows and tried using sniff-bin and snoopy and all but none of them would create a long file. I am at a loss why. I did a sniff with USBlyzer; if you want, I can send you the ulz file you can open with USBlizer under windows (they have a free 30 day download with no restrictions). Please let me know if this will be enough, or should I coax my sis into purchasing a supported webcam : ) Thanks a bunch. Alex. Hello everyone, I've installed the latest & greatest v4l drivers from http://linuxtv.org/hg/~jfrancois/gspca/ and tried to use the camera on a Samsung Q1 Ultra with them. The camera reports as Bus 001 Device 005: ID 0ac8:c301 Z-Star Microelectronics Corp. and the gspca_vc032x driver recognizes it - dmesg shows: [ 703.298585] Linux video capture interface: v2.00 [ 703.313857] gspca: main v2.7.0 registered [ 703.321625] gspca: probing 0ac8:c301 [ 703.322554] vc032x: check sensor header 20 [ 703.509321] vc032x: Sensor ID 148c (14) [ 703.509334] vc032x: Find Sensor MI1320_SOC [ 703.511699] gspca: probe ok [ 703.511764] usbcore: registered new interface driver vc032x [ 703.511775] vc032x: registered However, no video tool works. cheese always reports "libv4l2: error dequeuing buf: Input/output error" and the svv tool from the linuxtv website just shows a green screen, nothing else. At one point, I've also seen an error message in the log along the lines of "frame overflow 616416 > 614400". Does anybody have a hint for me how to fix this? Hi David, The webcam 0c45:613e has a sn9c120 bridge with a sensor ov7630 (not 7648). In the newest kernels, it is handled by 2 drivers: sn9c102 and gspca/sonixj. It seems that the sn9c102 does not recognize the sensor (your trace). gspca/sonixj should do it. May you remove the sn9c102 module from the kernel library and check if the gspca/sonixj works? As there is a probe sequence in the vc032x subdriver, the kernel log should contain the sensor name. What is it? If you cannot get images, may you tell me what is wrong? I'm trying to write a driver for the HP VGA camera. USB ID: 15b8:6002. The sensor is 7131r, and the bridge is probably vc0323 (although the inf says it's vc0326). It's inf is the same inf which includes the po1200 sensor, which was added in December last year (The HP 2.0 Megapixel camera). I am trying to use usbsnoop in a windows installation, but the log size just does not cease to come to a halt (as is specified in the microdia site), thereby leaving me unable to snoop the init sequence. What might be wrong? Also, is this the same sensor as hv7131r, as in vc032x.c? |

Hey There, I'm googling for answers about this cam, and i've found out that the OmniVision (OV519) <http://alpha.dyndns.org/ov511/cameras.html>driver already supports this sensor. Chicony <http://www.chicony.com.tw/> iCam 330 (model DC-3120)<http://www.chicony.com.tw/dc-3120.htm> N/A OV519 (05a9:8519) OV7648, built-in microphone Workingfor example. It had a different bridge, but what the hell, it can be somehow made for use with the SN9C120 bridge. Couldn't it? I'm learning programming, i've learned asm, c(, java&c#) and other languages, so i would be able to do it, but gspca is a huge driver collection, and this OV519 is not one driver, but a family of it. I dont have even a tiny idea how and where to start.. Cheers, David |

Hey Guys, I have a guy and want to help him make his webcam work. 0x0C45:0x613E . It has a sensor OV7648. I see that there were some patches for this sensor, but with stock ubuntu kernel its not working, i've tried with gspca v4l2(?) driver from http://linuxtv.org/hg/~jfrancois/gspca/ but i still recieve: [14096.729203] usb 6-1: new full speed USB device using uhci_hcd and address 8 [14096.896130] usb 6-1: configuration #1 chosen from 1 choice [14096.905671] usb 6-1: SN9C120 PC Camera Controller detected (vidid 0x0C45:0x613E) [14097.041295] usb 6-1: No supported image sensor detected for this bridge Can somebody help to make this work, or can we somehow participate? Thank you, David |

Hi Asif, I am very busy, but I can have a look on your traces. As a first step, I would know a bit about the USB exchanges. I'm joining a usbsnoop parser. May you use it with your trace and send me the resulting output? Cheers. -- Ken ar c'hentañ | ** Breizh ha Linux atav! ** Jef | http://moinejf.free.fr/ |

I have a ipassion webcam (below) that I need help with building a driver for linux. I am using ubuntu 9.04 Bus 003 Device 002: ID 1b3b:2936 iPassion Technology Inc. PC Camera/WebCam controller I have collected about 750mb of usbsnoop data from windows. Is there a public place where I can dump a little bit of that data and get some help to make a linux driver? (FYI, gspca v2.7.0 is included in the kernel 2.6.31-rc5, but gspca v2.5.0 in kernel 2.6.30 may work better) Also, the pixel format conversions are now done by the v4l2 library. It is better to use standard viewers as vlc (1.0.x) or mplayer instead of specific ones as luvcview. Best regards. -- Ken ar c'hentañ | ** Breizh ha Linux atav! ** Jef | http://moinejf.free.fr/ |

My camera gives bayer and JPEG pixel format. I have applied the patch provided in the link below and modified it to get full scale picture. But I dont get proper color. Is it a driver issue?
