Welcome!

This project has been created to serve as a proxy server for SpamAssassin, Razor, and anything else you want to put between your mail server and your mail client (in theory, mail could be sent through gzip.

The idea of the project is to work with any program (or programs) which accept some text from stdin and write it back to stdout. The goal is to also make it protocol-independant, enabling it to work with POP3, IMAP, or whatever you would like to pass to it.

Now, for the meat of the project. Since I am fairly strapped for time, I don't know that I can do much other than oversee development and get the project kick-started. I'm definitely going to need help-and lots of it-to make this work.

Initially, I would like to discuss the ins and outs of developing a project like this, and what language to do the development in. In my infinite wisdom, I'd prefer to do it in C, but there is a strong case for developing this in Perl.

Thanks for reading.
