I installed spampal 1.73h beta.
I installed it into the folder E:\SpamPal.
In WindowsXP I moved the folder "My Documents" to the folder H:\ So if you click on the icon "My Documents" (in German this is calles "Eigene Dateien") you get directly to the folder H:\
If an application tries to connect to one of my POP3 accounts then window is shown, showing me the application and asking me if I want to filter the application or not (see attached image "BUG_Missing_Folder_1.jpg").
No matter what option I select (Filter or Don't filter) I get an error message, that a folder is missing.
See image "BUG_Missing_Folder_2.jpg".
The folder is really not present, although the SpamPal folder (the parent folder) is present.
See also image "BUG_Missing_Folder_2.jpg".
I installed SpamPal on a CLEAN system (restored an image before isntalling it).

I installed the actual version of SpamPal (1.7G with the NEW INSTALLER).
But I still have this problems.
If SP asks me if I want to filter the application I get the message that the folder is not existing.

Sorry, I did not look properly at the error message.
This is not a missing FOLDER, the problem are missing files.
The two files "tproxy_programs_filter.de" and "tproxy_programs_dontfilter.de" are missing.
So, please make sure that these files are included in the installer package and that they are isntalled.
This problem occours in the OLD installer and in the NEW installer.

James, please confirm that these files actually exist as I couldn't find them at all and my SpamPal works fine. Do you have these files and could send them to me or check them in and tell us where to put them? Oliver said because of this bug that he couldn't install SpamPal at all. I agree that this is a serious bug which needs to be fixed asap.

These files shouldn't be necessary - if they can't be found then SpamPal reads the data from, default_filter_process.dat and default_exclude_process.bat (in the install folder) instead.
Hmmm... looks like there could be an error at lsp.c line 714 - there's a missing letter F (should be 0xFFFFFFFF not 0xFFFFFFF) - this could I suppose cause the problem. I'll commit a fix to CVS. Not sure why this bug wasn't showing up for everyone... maybe just bad luck.
In the meantime, what I'd suggest is that you could default_filter_processes.dat from the install folder to tproxy_programs_filter.dat the SpamPal application data folder, and similarly default_exclude_processes.dat as tproxy_programs_dontfilter.dat. That should be a work-around for you.

Hello realjjf,
thank you for your answer
I did as you told me.
This causes other Problems, see screen "missing_files_3.JPG".
BEFORE I copied the files the missing files were not found in the folder C:\Dokumente und Einstellungen\OLLI...
NOW the files are missing in C:\Dokumente und EinstellungenALL USERS...
So they are needed in the settings of ALL USERS and not in the settings of the CURRENT user.
So I copied the two files also to the folder C:\Dokumente und Einstellungen\All Users\Anwendungsdaten\SoamPal
AND NOW IT IS WORKING......
Can you please tell me what settings folder is the correct one?
Greetings
OLLI

I think James changed the folder from the personal USER folder to the ALL USERS folder. I'm not absolutely sure about that since I cannot interpret the source code.
