#11 Update check broken

The automatic update check is broken. Users get an error message saying "Updates list is corrupted -- update check failed.".

The problem is that the company where spampal.org is/was hosted decided to change their general settings without letting users know. That broke spampal.org 2 days ago. James decided to move the whole website including the update check to a new server at another hoster. It appears that the update check is hard coded to point to a specific IP which has obviously changed.

A quick fix could be to upload the update check code back to the old hoster.

In newer versions the update check could query a normal URL which can be redirected in case of an issue.
