There is a new version of spacewatcher available for download. The version number is 1.2.0 and the major change in this version is the addition of new platforms.

As of this version, FreeBSD, GNU/Linux, Darwin and Solaris (8) are all supported.

The biggest thing to do now is to clean up the way that I've done cross platform support. I've got chunks of code wrapped in #define statements and there _has_ to be a better way to do things than this. Any assistance on this would be appreciated.

Spacewatcher is a tool designed to monitor used and by extension available space on filesystems and alert a designated contact if defined thresholds are exceeded. At the moment it only runs from cron, but a daemon process is in the works.

First up though is a port to GNU/Linux. At the moment spacewatcher runs on FreeBSD and Darwin (Mac OSX.1) but not on Linux. This will change soon :)... read more
