#32 Noise red or black on Windows 8.1 running in VMWare Fusion

Apparently, noises don't work in VMWare Fusion (using Windows 8.1): As soon as I create a noise, all I get is a red background (possibly this is related to the bugs with red output on export - but I'm seeing this in the preview). Funny enough: I've just upgraded to VMWare Fusion 7.0, and now I get a black background with noises.

So: Using VMWare Fusion 6.0 as soon as I created a noise layer, the background went red. After upgrading to VMWare Fusion 7.0 I get the same behavior except now the background is solid black (regardless of the settings in the noise layer(s)).

I can reproduce this with the example files - no noises, just black (but the stars are there).
