In order to facilitate building of Open-SESSAME, Boost-Jam v3.1.7 is now provided as a module in the spacecraft project. To get jam checkout the "jam" module (cvs co jam). I still need to get Open-SESSAME to buid under windows. More info forthcoming. --------------------------------------- Andrew Turner nil...@us... |

Dear Open Source developer I am doing a research project on "Fun and Software Development" in which I kindly invite you to participate. You will find the online survey under http://fasd.ethz.ch/qsf/. The questionnaire consists of 53 questions and you will need about 15 minutes to complete it. With the FASD project (Fun and Software Development) we want to define the motivational significance of fun when software developers decide to engage in Open Source projects. What is special about our research project is that a similar survey is planned with software developers in commercial firms. This procedure allows the immediate comparison between the involved individuals and the conditions of production of these two development models. Thus we hope to obtain substantial new insights to the phenomenon of Open Source Development. With many thanks for your participation, Benno Luthiger PS: The results of the survey will be published under http://www.isu.unizh.ch/fuehrung/blprojects/FASD/. We have set up the mailing list fa...@we... for this study. Please see http://fasd.ethz.ch/qsf/mailinglist_en.html for registration to this mailing list. _______________________________________________________________________ Benno Luthiger Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich 8092 Zurich Mail: benno.luthiger(at)id.ethz.ch _______________________________________________________________________ |

>===== Original Message From "Andrew J. Turner" <ant...@vt...> ===== Well, here are my thoughts: Randy & I can work together to define the functionality that the MTL wrappers should have (preferably as close to MatLab syntax as possible, since that's the paradigm I've already used for integration and such. Also, aero engineers already typically know MatLab, so it will carry over). Then we can compare with how the current matrix library is interfaced to Open-SESSAME, and if the wrapper can either use the same interface, or Open-SESSAME can be updated to the new (and improved!) interface. hopefully, something as simple as a find/replace (maybe with some complex regular expressions, like finding myMatrix(_(1,5),2) and replacing it with myMatrix(1:5,2), or something of the ilk). Then, just rebuild the Open-SESSAME libraries w/ the new matrix library & wrappers and run some tests (for example the ones I ran for my thesis). To Review: * Define MTL wrapper interface * Decide strategy for pulling out old library * Update Open-SESSAME code w/ find/replace as necessary * Rebuild libs * Test Make sense?
