We are happy to announce that Space Dodge 0.4 Alpha release is now available.
This is the first release of Space Dodge. It is an Alpha Release - To see what that means, read the reltype.txt file under the documents folder.
While the game is FAR from completion, it main component are already here:
a) Scrolling background
b) The players spaceship (currently only with keyboard control)
c) Some Enemies (Asteroids and the like)
d) Basic Collision Detection using Reduced Rectangles
e) A game engine
f) An Enemy engine
g) Level and Game Bounding
h) Dynamic Sprite Allocation
Of course, the graphic is right down horrible (can someone please help? Drop us a line!), and levels have not yet been developed. We also plan on having a better collision detection, and add some defence elements to the player ship (we dont plan in this stage to equip the ship with weapons the emphasis has been on dodging not attacking.), and develop some story line. You can keep in touch with the development cycle by reading the Roadmap document under the document directory.
