Starting from http://www.faqs.org/faqs/unix-faq/shell/csh-whynot/ I have been convinced that CSH should not be used for scripts.
The echo2 program in sptk is a good example, why CSH should be avoided.
Another good example is that I have several CSH versions on my system, but only tcsh is working properly.
Moreover using sh does not introduce any new dependency, as it is already mandatory for autoconf.
So, if you agree with the proposal, I offer my help with this task.
