#208 soxi hangs with 100% cpu against amr-nb files

John O'Gara

As title, versions 14.3.2 and 14.4.0 are affected, reverting to version 14.3.1 resolves the issue

./soxi -V -V -t test.amr
./soxi INFO formats: detected file format type `amr-nb'

Do you know if your SoX was built against opencore-amr or amrnb?
(If you don't and you are using a package from a distribution, can you specify your GNU/Linux distribution please?)

It was built against opencore-amr-0.1.2-1.el5, let me know if there is any other info you require.

For me, 14.4.0 handles AMR files (such as recorded by my android) OK,
be it sox, soxi, or play.

Can you please provide an example file which 14.4.0 cannot handle?

Works OK for me with SoX-14.4.1

    @ubuntu:~$ soxi test.amr

    Input File : 'test.amr' (amr-nb)
    Channels : 1
    Sample Rate : 8000
    Precision : 16-bit
    Duration : 00:00:30.08 = 240640 samples ~ 2256 CDDA sectors
    File Size : 48.1k
    Bit Rate : 12.8k
    Sample Encoding: AMR-NB
