[SourceJammer-users] sourcejammer 2.1

Hello,

I recently downloaded and configured sourcejammer 2.1 / tomcat 3.3.2 /
j2re 1.4.1

after everything was configured and running i went to http://db-srv:8080
and saw  SSH-1.99-OpenSSH_3.6.1p2 Protocol mismatch

while trying to create my archive with the sourcejammer client I
received the following error: SourceJammer is having trouble
communicating with the server. A problem occurred in communicating with
the SourceJammer/SOAP server. Error parsing HTTP status line
"SSH-1.99-OpenSSH_3.6.1p2"; java.util.NoSuchElementException

Any help on how to fix this would be appreciated.

Hi, James.

First of all, I'm not sure if Tomcat 3.x is compatible with java 1.4.x. I could be wrong. I'm also
not sure if SJ 2.1 works with TC 3.x. Is there a particular reason you want to use TC 3.3.2? You
could try TC 5.x. It's very slick and a lot faster than 3 or 4.

Second, are you using SSH in some capacity on purpose? Or is this something that just jumped out
without a good reason?

I know it's possible to run SJ over SSH, but I've never done that myself. I believe the concept is
called SSH tunneling, but I don't know much more than that.

Hi, James,

The SSH message indicates that the server and client
may be using and expecting different versions of the
SSH protocol (versions 1 and 2).  Typically, a server
will be set up to recognize both SSH versions 1 and 2.
 In my case I deliberately set the server to recognize
only version 2 so anyone that wanted to connect would
have to have a version client.

Rob, might be right on the Tomcat version.  I upgraded
from version 3 to 4 and it was easy with the exception
of tracking down where JAVA_HOME was set.
