I just wanted to let everyone know again that dev.sourcejammer.org is down. I'm trying to get this problem resolved. The network where that server lives was recently reconfigured by someone for whom dev.sourcejammer.org was not a top concern. In fact, he probably forgot it was there. Anyway, I'll get it back up as soon as I can. Thanks. --Rob __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Tired of spam? Yahoo! Hello all, i finished my planned changes for sourcejammer. Yesterday i completed the recursive checkin and checkout of projects. Today i wanted to checkin all my changes to dev.sourcejammer.org but didn't succeed. The server seems to be down again. Rob: When will the server be back? Here is the complete list of what i have done: - Adding a bunch of new icons for actions - Changing the existing icons of the most actions - The userid/password dialog comes up with the current system user if the user is not stored - Feature request 722140: The .source.jam files can be stored to a different folder. So it is possible to keep them out of the target source directories (feature can be enabled in the pref-dialog-advanced) - Optimizing the imports of some files - Changing some source parts that created java warnings - Fixing some spelling bugs in the german language file - Inserting the newest version of the plastic look and feel library - Resize tree in move/copy dialog - Open tree in move/copy dialog with current selected tree position - Inserting an "unlink" checkbox to diff view - Inserting eclipse like headers to all panels - Using Karten Lentzsch's UIFSplitPane to remove the borders of the JSplitPane dividers - improving diff view (compactor) - Feature request 840843: Encrypted local password - New right-click behavior: A right click onto the FileTable selects the underlying item if there is no item previously selected - fixing bug: 968076 Copy from a project into itself is not prevented - fixing hardcoded texts in various dialogs - Feature request 848278: Implementing recursive operations for folders (at the moment checkout, checkin) Rob: You can close the bug-entries and feature requests for this things on sourceforge. I can do it myself if you give me developer rights on sourceforge (my user: thaberkern) I have a lot of ideas of what i can do to further improve Sourcejamme. I think i will focus on GUI improvements (Look&Feel of the dialogs) in the next future and a web start client. Timo __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Tired of spam? Wonderful bunch of work. I can't wait to see some of the things you list. Just a question about the penultimate point: The labels that have been dynamised, are now in the resource files? Of course, if they are not hardcoded any more, they must be there, of course, but then all the translation files are not out of date, aren't they? Hi Albert, yes you are right. All the translation files are out of date (except the german and the english one). Before a release there should be a clean-up for all other language files. dev.sourcejammer.org is back in business! Sorry about the trouble. It was largely outside of my control. Timo, please check your changes in to the ver2.1 branch. We'll deal with 2.1.1 and 2.2 later. At this point, I'm happy to consider 2.1.1 an exercise in prototyping and problem identification. I think we need a whole new approach to the 2.2 client. What we want is something simple and easily extensible. We want a basic interface for the "browse" panel (on the left) and for the "results" panel (on the right), so that plugins can be developed for things like search screens, search results screens, and stuff we haven't thought of yet. One important part of this architecture is that the actions be easily shared across plugins. Right now they are too closely coupled to the current file table and project tree. I'm not sure of the best approach to make this stuff work easily, but de-coupling is a good first step. Anyway, that's all part of 2.2. Timo, if you can think of strategies for making SJ work more easily with client-side plugins, that would be just great. Thanks for doing all this stuff. Can't wait to see your new changes in action. --Rob --- Timo Haberkern <tim...@ya...> wrote: > Hi Albert, > > yes you are right. ok, i have checked in and added all files. I hope everything is complete now. Hope all changes are ok. I'm waiting on feedback. Can't wait to see the changes in a released version of sourcejammer. This message is especially meant for Timo, lately our head developer ;-) As he has been dealing with the UI, he might still be in the inertia to fix the following: The split panel sizes are stored in the user preferences, so that the latest values are restored at client startup. However, when you log into a repository, they are superseded and the left-side tree panel is shown with a fixed width, no matter how wide you had set it the previous time. It's a petty thing, hardly qualifiable as a bug, but if the sizes are stored in the preferences, they ought to be used. Otherwise, let's avoid the work of saving them everytime. Do the changes you checked in need to be merged with anything? Or did you do it yourself already? Cheers, Albert. |

Albert, the problem with the splitpane should not hard to fix, i will see that i could change this until tommorow. I have some other small fixes too. All my changed are checked in without trouble. I was the only who had checked-out files in the V.2.1 branch, so no merging was needed. Don't know if Rob has done some tests with my changes or not, so i can't say if everything is working at the moment. ciao Timo --- Albert Moliner <amo...@ev...> wrote: > > This message is especially meant for Timo, lately our head developer ;-) As > he > has been dealing with the UI, he might still be in the inertia to fix the > following: > > The split panel sizes are stored in the user preferences, so that the latest > values are restored at client startup. Haven't looked at your changes yet, Timo. Soon, I promise. Busy busy busy. And on top of everything else I am (hopefully) in the middle of selling a house. Hello. I have not found this in the phpBugTracker (perhaps it was never moved from SF's tracker), but once Timo said that he had fixed bug 968076, forbidding to copy a project into itself. Was that in the client, or the server? Although the client could also check it up, the place to control it is the server. This latter question arises just because if it was implemented in the client, it seems to fail; but if it was in the server, then it's normal that the recursive copy has happened to us, since we have not updated it. A boy here using the latest client has mistakenly selected the same target project (which is now the default one shown in the dialog). He can't remember whether he was copying or moving, but the problem is just the same. I've managed to fix it by editting the server XMLs, anyway. Well, the point is: Hadn't you fixed this, Timo? Is it reasonable that it has happened with the new client? Is it in phpBugTracker? Cheers, Albert. |
