Now the Sound_Recorder comes up with the VU meters displaying the sound level prior to recording. This is important, since many times the line-in or mike-inputs might be muted. Better to detect and correct before recording, than learning about it after recording a while.

In Sound-Recorder, an optional volume level indicator was added for checking levels prior to beginning a new recording.
A menu was added to set options within the tool.
In Sound-Editor, the play-rate indicator and plot units were improved.

Automatic volume limiting was added to the Sound-Editor so as to avoid clipping. It has a fast-attack and slow-release, which is especially useful for saving high dynamic-range recordings, such as speech when volume is raised too high. A slider was added to the volume adjustment window. It now shows volume change in dB or linear, depending on the graph selected. It always shows the net-change in both linear and dB. A button was added to automatically set volume to the maximum level without clipping. The makefile was fixed to compile both programs.

Options were added to SoundRec for delaying the start of recording, and for limiting the total duration of all recordings. An option was also added to automatically run user specified filter-programs or scripts on each recorded file.

Fixed bug that slowed file reading on some PC's.
Added ability for Sound-Editor to read OGG and MP3 files. Improved management of temporary files.

The latest version contains several improvements.
Tool-tip hover-boxes were added to explain features.
When buttons are not active, they are now grayed-out. All sequential file names now have four digits to help with alphabetic sorting. Progress-bars were added to the SoundEditor tool. A Makefile was also added.
