The project is very portable, the three areas to watch out for are:
Different platforms have different standards regarding naming and location. The build environment is tailored to producing the right kind of shared library for the target platform. The architecture is designed to have class implementations in various shared libraries. For example the Darwin(MacOSX) environment will build a combination of dylibs, bundles and frameworks.
The project works best with pthreads. The pthread_cleanup_push/pop routines are used heavily to ensure cleaning up works correctly.
The somtc module provides routines to construct va_list on the fly. This is outside the realm of ANSI C so some fancy foot work is done to cope with a wide variety of platform ABI.
