Hi all, I'm almost done with merging with pkgsrc-current as of 2003-09-13. The good news come first: no major issues with this merge, and we'll reduce the drift from the main branch since important problems have been solved. Example: USE_GNU_TOOLS+= awk links the GNU version of a tool (here, 'awk') that's broken in Solaris inside ${WRKDIR}/.tools/bin, which is prepended to the path. No more pre-configure targets that links stuff in for packages that hard-code 'awk' instead of '$(AWK)' or '@AWK@'. The "bad" news are that pkgsrc is going to freeze (and possibly be tagged netbsd-1-6-2) at the end of this week, so I'll have to do it all again :( Besides, my UltraSparc is dying slowly -- that's the drawback of low-cost IDE drives in otherwise excellent stations (wink). fsck is having a very hard time recovering after every blackout (we've had three in the past two weeks). Since I was away from home lately (ah, holidays...), this explains that I haven't committed much. I won't be working on zounds at all anymore: I need to focus the little time I can devolve to Solarpack and NetBSD on one topic... Cheers, -- Julien T.
