Softpad / News: Recent posts

This release brings more refinement and features:

- Dragging and dropping files onto the application will open them in a new tab.
- You can now associate Softpad with files and double click to open them.
- Printing is enhanced and should work better.
- Many parts of the code were cleaned up.

Features I'm trying to implement in the future include line numbering, highlighting the current line, and a file change indicator.

This is the next alpha release. Much has improved and the program should be much more usable. Some of the highlights are:

- The Favorites system has been implemented.
- There is also a Recent Files system which is similar to the Favorites system.
- Everything is now stored in an INI file instead of the registry. I eventually want to give the option to support both.
- All settings are remembered, including colors.... read more

This is Softpad v.1, the first release. It is in the alpha phase and several features are not working:

- The Favorites system doesn't work.
- For some reason, even though the font is saved between sessions, font and background colors are not.
- Settings are always saved in the registry; the option to save to a file does not work.

Other than the above, everything works but there are a few bugs I've seen and haven't fixed yet.

Work on the project has officially begun. The basic program is complete. Now I'm working on adding some features to it.
