I think that Soaplab2 deserves its own branch or module.

I created the branch, in order to share the code I found useful here in my
institute.

The code could not go into the main branch, because some changes are
incompatible or break the old Soaplab behaviour. Sometimes because, the
changes are in fact incompatible, and sometimes just because I did not
know how to do it properly in Soaplab (e.g. with configuration options,
etc.).
