SOAP to CORBA bridging software / News: Recent posts

After a (very) long period of silence, this project has (finally) attracted some attention.

Hendrik Mieves has written a diploma thesis about "secure communication of middleware infrastructures", during which he ported the soap2corba project to the open source ORB

While answering some questions from a user I noticed to my amazement that the SOAP head and body elements where reversed.
This issue has been fixed and a new release (2.0.4) has been placed online.
Also, the log4cpp I use has been (finally) been released with the RemoteSyslogAppender support included.

The soap2corba@lifeline.nl address is working normally again.

There is now a binary release of SB2 for RedHat 7.0/7.1. See the "files" section.

The SoapBridge has undergone a complete rewrite.
The new version is production-level code, using everything we've learned from the old bridge.
There is also new functionality, the bridge has become two-way! You can now call SOAP servers from CORBA clients as well as call CORBA servers from SOAP clients.
Configurable logging is also a new feature (using log4cpp, also on SF). cURL (again, a SF homed project) is used to make the SOAP calls. AnyConfig (yet another SF based library) makes the configuration extremely flexible, whatever your platform.
GNU autoconf has been used to make it easier to compile the SoapBridge on your platform.
