WOW! What a performance increase. With SNMP::Info 0.8 I had the following times. arp 33624 entries. 145.10 minutes. Mon Nov 15 20:25:16 2004 discover 1307 devices. (0 new) (12 old) 190.35 minutes. Mon Nov 15 12:10:26 2004 mac 18503 distinct nodes. 351022 forwarding table entries. 399.95 minutes. Mon Nov 15 19:40:03 2004 And with SNMP::Info 0.9 I get the following. arp 35282 entries. 69.53 minutes. Tue Nov 16 19:09:34 2004 discover 1305 devices. (0 new) (8 old) 166.70 minutes. Tue Nov 16 11:46:47 2004 mac 19390 distinct nodes. 377041 forwarding table entries. 189.67 minutes. Tue Nov 16 16:09:42 200 At least arp-niping and mac-sucking is about 2 times as fast. Awesome job there. /Mikael On Mon, 15 Nov 2004 21:08:26 -0500, Max Baker <ma...@wa...> wrote: > SNMP::Info 0.9 is a major release for this Perl library. > > New in this release is full support for the Nortel / Bay set of devices. > This version also sees support for SNMP BULKWALK, lending a huge speed > increase in data collection.
