as far as I know, SnipSnap has no mechanism for templates per snip.
If I'd build something like that, I'd build it around the Label functionality.
This would enable the user to apply different or several styles, footers, headers, templates to an entry.

I am considering how one might create standard footer's for either wiki snips, or blog snips.
Any advice as to where these might best be found?
Are there any templates held inside the snipsnap database? If so what are they called? They don't seem obvious to me.

please move over to the forums at http://sourceforge.net/projects/snipsnap/
SnipSnip was ment to continue the SnipSnap project while we had no access to the original project.
Now we can work with SnipSnap again and the latest source tree is in SnipSnap's SVN repository.
