I just want to verify that it is okay to use SSD's with SR (sata, m.2).
Reason I am asking is that I learned that using SSD with Unraid is not to recommend. The reason is that the internal controller in a SSD moves stuff around and Unraid accesses the disk in a physical manner, not files. The way to calculate the parity will then crash. (i.e give wrong result).
Because SR and Unraid seems to work on the same principle I have some concerns about this.
Can anyone elaborate on this? Because I have seen posts, claiming that SR works with SSD's

Snapraid is entirely file based, if that solves the concern.
Your data files are left as they are, and parity and content are ordinary files and accessed as such.
Okay.
As I understand are Unraid accessing data by using track and sector which not will work using SSD's.
Relived to hear that this is not the case with SnapRaid.
Is there a description about how SnapRaid calculates the parity?
