SnapRAID stores parity information in the disk array,
and it allows recovering from up to six disk failures.
This is the list of changes:
* Fix build issues in generic Unix platforms, including Mac OS X.
* The "diff" command returns with error code 2 if a "sync" is
required, to differentiate with the generic error code 1.
* Reduced the effect of SMART attribute 193 on the failure
probability to avoid some false positive reports.

I noticed the logfile (snapraid.exe sync -l snaplog.txt) now produces verbose output by default. v7.1 did not do this.
How do I disable that? I'm interested in the files it adds & deletes, but not all the default files it bypasses which is now shown (like hundreds of thumbs.db files)

Hi Andrea,
I was asking about this logging change because the script I'm using (https://sourceforge.net/p/snapraid/discussion/1677233/thread/3afc8cb4/) produced a huge log file for no apparent reasons after I upgraded to 8.1 and it included a lot of rows with "excluded" files.
Since then I've downloaded the updated version (thanks therealjmc) and I haven't experienced the problem ... I guess therealjmc found a way to suppress them.

Hi Dimitar,
The logging of excluded files is intentional to allow to identify filtering rules that exclude too many files.
Ciao,
Andrea
