Snail LiveUSB

Welcome to Snail LiveUSB/DVD!

What is Snail LiveUSB?

I thought of making a liveUSB containing all the OS and applications I used as part of my job.
This is how Snail was born; a LiveUSB containing dozens, if not hundreds, of tools for computer administration, repair, security audits, and other nifty tools I could've come across.

Why Snail LiveUSB?

Being a very slow being, this is where the name came from. The name was very badly chosen since Snail focuses mainly on ease of accessibility and productivity. You boot the computer, select the app, and TADAA! Theres also a few environments available(Mini WinXP, Ophcrack, PartedMagic) so any type of user can work with Snail.

Hiren's bootcd 14.0 was included in the LiveUSB as well as a homebrew of portable apps for the windows users (WAMPEE,Tor browser, Mantra, MetaSploit 4.0.0 and others). Linux users will find the same functionalities under the Backtrack 5 env. (not included)

In future releases (current version:1.1 BETA):

  • [TOOL]SecXP: automated WindowsXP configuration, analysis, and reporting script, with enhanced security in mind.
  • [OS]INServ: minimal SUSE based server livecd containing APACHE2,MYSQL,PHP5,SSHD,BIND9, and strict security ruleset for out-of-the-box deployments.
  • [TOOL]INServ(Win): Windows based server software suite and configuration files, for both the daemons && system. Aimed at replacing WAMPEE.
  • [TOOL]snailupdate: Checks for Snail updates.
