When the program tries to run the update it opens a
command prompt window and then gives me a Dr.
waston error:
Exception access violation (0xc0000005), Address:
0x0f03878f
I had problems with my update system under difefrent
operating systems so I dropped it. Sorry. You'll need to
download 1.4 Full Installation, run setup and follow through
from there.
You can install over the top of your existing setup (you might
like to copy the folder first though), and Fluffy will try to
upgrade and transfer all the settings, as there have been
significant changes. It should all work.

What is happening is... In the Fluffy training center... I forget
where... I'm not at the server... It says automatically check
for updates. I had that checked to check at 6am and it had
been running for awhile. Then it started crashing Fluffy. If I
tried to do the check manually or automatically I would get
the error I listed below. Once I turned that off it has been
running perfect for about two days before I submitted this
and still is running. I've been on vacation... First one in a few
years... I'll be back on Monday.
So does this help?
Thanks,
Bob

I'm sorry. I haven't looked at it until today. Because it is a
puzzle.
You shouldn't be getting a Dos BOx coming up. That was
disabled about version 1.2. So it doesn't make any sense to
me.
If you go to the Fluffy Training Centyre (Configure) and click
on the Update/Logs tab you should see a button
labelled "Check for
update now". When you do that, you should see the text box
fill with lines like this:
Connecting to update server...OK
Checking latest version...OK
Latest update is version 1004.95
You are running version 1004.8
A new version is available
And then it will ask you if you want to download the update.
And whether you answer Yes or No, nothing happens. The
code to do
anyting is commented out because it used to do that crash.
So maybe you're not running 1.4.79 or I'm going insane.
I'd like to see some log files if I'm to comment further.
If you just manually go to http://www.fluffy.codeworks.gen.nz and download the latest
(the patch to 1.5.2 is the latest update which
can go straight on top of 1.4.x) will also stop any problems
because then you'll have the latest version.
If you would like to refer to this comment somewhere else in this project, copy and paste the following link:
Well in the window bar it says 1.4.79....
And when you check for updates it does go for the file and
does try and do the update... then crashes and leaves either
a blank dos box with a blinking cursor or a box with a cursor
jumping all over the place.
Only thing I can think of is...
I copied some of the files back into the new version because I
had a bunch of banned sites and messages. That didn't seem
to work after I installed the last version. So maybe I copied
to manny files back over that was so long ago I can't
remember what I did to get it to work.
I'll zip the whole dir and send it to you. I'll alss get the lastst
version and install over this and see what happens. And if I
have to wipe it clean and start from scratch. Lately I'm also
getting the DNSCache is too small message again.... It went
away for a while there. I'll do all this tommorrow and send the
file to you and tell you what happened if anything.
Thanks for this program and your help,
Bob

I'm guessing you were running version 1.1?

Ok, I'm confused. What "update" are you trying to run?
You can't run setup.exe whne unzipping 1.4 Full Installation
download?

I don't eally want your whole folder. I would like to see the
log file though.
I still say what you describe can't happen on 1.4.79.
My best advice remains the same. Downlaod the 1.5.2 patch,
and unzip and replace the existing fluffy.exe
