I have recently made serveral updates to the project web site, to reflect the release of 0.05 pre alpha, and provided some sample code and information on configuration. http://smtp2http.sourceforge.net/
This is an SMTP style EMAIL server which redirects email messages received by a SMTP to http post requests. Mail is not necessarly returned to the user, it is up to the web application called to return email.
On 23rd January, version 0.04 of the smtp2http gateway was released. Improvements to previous version include better logging to the windows event log, can be installed as a service, and the messages are posted emulating mime encoded form data. Of course, its still very buggy, and more information needs to be posted to the web, including the from and to lines. So this release is largely for the interest of developers. On 4th January, version 0.02 of the smtp2http gateway was released. The basic flow of the program is now present. It accepts EMAIL on SMTP port, reads XML configuration file, and posts the body of the message to the web. Of course, its still very buggy, and more information needs to be posted to the web, including the from and to lines. So this release is largely for the interest of developers.
