My SCCM SQL server is not the same box as my SCCM server. I have installed the web client in the IIS7 of my SCCM server and it works fine. But when I chools Import local Policy, it fails and the SMS server listed on the little popup window shows the SCCM server instead of the SQL server. I have edited the web.config connectionstring section for the correct server, database, login, and password but it doesn't seem to be used. I get no drop down list. The error in the status bar is: A network-related or instance-specific error occurred while establishing a connection to the SQL server. The server was not found or was not accessible. blahblah. I can do this just fine with the standalone SCCM Client Console as it does use the settings to point to the correct server. Am I making a simple mistake or is this hard coded to assume the SCCM and SQL are on the same box?
