Simple Portable Simulation Language (or just SMPL) is a set of functions for building event-based, discrete-event simulation model.

Originally, SMPL was written by M. H. MacDougall on c language and is described in his book "Simulating Computer Systems, Techniques and Tools". This is independent implementation.
