It would be nice to have own ASS styles applied only for simple subtitles formats like microdvd or vplayer. In case of formats suporting styles like SSA, user's styles would be ignored.

Of course we still allows user to force own styles even for styles subtitles - by using checkbox.

This patch is based on #2152166 and it does only 50% of needed work. With this patch applied usually restaring MPlayer is needed to see effect (change).

I've just tested your two patches and I'm afraid this is not working. With the patch the styles are not used even for srt subtitles.

And actually I don't see a way to make it work unless mplayer is restarted every time the subtitle track is changed, which is ugly.

Maybe there's a much easier way to change the style for subtitles in format srt, sub... while keeping the style in ass subtitles: using the option -ass-styles

    http://lists.mplayerhq.hu/pipermail/mplayer-users/2008-October/074729.html

The problem, the parameter for -ass-styles is a file, so the styles should be saved to a temporary file or something.

Well, this has already been implemented in v. 0.6.5.

This works great! Now I can use own styles without worring about overriding styles of ASS subtitles. Great work, thanks for it :)
