Using SMplayer on Windows, with priority=abovenormal and "Use only one instance of SMPlayer" checked, using port 8000.

When playing a playlist, it locks the PC for a couple of seconds every time a new track starts.

The problem persisted from the time I installed, to the time I tried port 8008 instead. I dont have anything listening on port 8000 (used netstat -ab), and switching back to port 8000 didn't recreate the problem.

Anyway, I suppose the cause will remain a mystery, but at least this will be a record for others suffering the same problem.

I've never had the problem you describe. Anyway I don't think it's related to the port it's listening, as that it's done on smplayer startup and nothing changes when a new file is played.

That delay (or freeze) I think it might be caused by mplayer, but I don't know why without more info.
