Version 14.3, Ubuntu 13.10 x64
Seeking crashes Smplayer almost instantly. No matter what it is in the preferences.
It worked like charm in previous versions.
This is pretty big bug.
Please tell me the version of mplayer you're using.
I've wrote it in theme, the latest 14.3.0. Before that i was using 0.8.3 and 0.8.6 everything was ok. I can't find crash file and it didn't write any errors in terminal as well. So if you could tell me how to get those errors it would be helpful i guess.
Ok, i am really sorry. I was too quick to judge. It does work for most of the files but i usually test on the smallones.
Here is an example of such file.
Using mplayer without GUI works, so this is indeed Smplayer bug.
I don't have seeking problems with the file you uploaded. I think it's a problem of mplayer (that's why I asked for the version of mplayer you're using).
Anyway, try this, go to preferences -> interface -> seeking and select "relative seeking".
MPlayer svn r34540 (Ubuntu), built with gcc-4.7 (C) 2000-2012 MPlayer Team
mplayer don't have this problem, seeking works there.
I've already tried "relative seeking" options, no luck.
I've just tested with MPlayer svn r34540 and seeking doesn't work well with the file you posted. Sometimes the file stops (but I can't experience a crash).
Setting the cache for local files to 0 seems to fix the problem, so try that.
Thanks, it did work.
