I tried new features bookmarks for a couple radio stations. Once set, radio entries got saved in a playlist under settings folder. The playlist is correct, if loaded manually it plays.
But not so if clicked from Radio menu. Seems that it displays entries in menu as parsed as m3u8 but when an entry is clicked it tries to load the entire playlist as PLS.

From Menu Open->Radio

[22:37:30:374] BaseGui::open: 'http://www.liveireland.com/liveAACplus.pls'
[22:37:30:377] Playlist::load_pls
[22:37:30:389] Playlist::setModified: 0
[22:37:30:391] Playlist::list
[22:37:30:393] Playlist::updateView
[22:37:30:398] Playlist::setModified: 0
[22:37:30:401] Playlist::playItem: 0 (count:0)
[22:37:30:403] Playlist::playItem: out of range
[22:37:30:416] BaseGui::playlistHasFinished
then is stopped of course.

Instead manually loading ~/.config/smplayer/radio.m3u8

[22:39:45:163] Playlist::load_m3u
[22:39:45:176] Playlist::setModified: 0
[22:39:45:179] * line: '#EXTM3U'
[22:39:45:181] * line: '#EXTINF:0,LI1,'

[22:39:45:225] Playlist::setModified: 0
[22:39:45:226] Playlist::playItem: 0 (count:3)
ecc. it plays fine

    Could you attach your radio.m3u8?

    Currently smplayer can't open remote playlists. It's necessary to tell smplayer that the playlist should be open by mplayer. The current (and ugly) way to do it, is by appending "|smplayer:isplaylist" to the url.
    For instance: http://www.liveireland.com/liveAACplus.pls|smplayer:isplaylist

    I attach a radio.m3u8 that works.

    In the future I'll try to find a better solution for the problem.

    Ah yes, better than nothing now it works !
    with |smplayer:isplaylist

    Maybe a checkbox like the one in open URL window can be added to the favorite editor.
