First, thanks - the software works very well. The only thing I noticed is that there is something slowing down the update of remote archive file creation.

I verified this problem on both SMBNetFS versions 0.5.3b and 0.6.0

If I create a remote rar archive on a windows share and add local directories, it will start off okay but after the first few files the system grounds to a halt I have never allowed it to finish because it takes longer than 2 hours for only a file that is composed of two directories that are a total of 80MB in size and will be compressed down to around 40MB when it is complete.

I don't know what is going on or why it would be the case, but if I create the file locally and transfer it it will complete the transfer in less than a minute.

If I create the archive across the windows share then it will crawl. It looks like there must be some difference in how updates to files are being handled internally because of the compression and memory pages.

I have the workaround as creating the archive locally then transferring it, but I thought I would pass this on for you to think about because perhaps if you can find out how to fix this problem the software will work even better.
