Finally I was able to publish small update to the SmartShot tool. Thanks to http://icons8.com it gained more consistent look. There is also redo function added as well as keyboard shortcuts for save, undo and redo actions. You can save images in more output formats too.

Also I thank Sujay Ghosh very much for his comments (www. insightsintechnology .com/2012/06/smart-shot-is-open-source-screenshot.html >>remove spaces<< ). I agree to all of the suggestions, unfortunately I have almost no opportunity to work on this tool therefore I can't judge when I'll be able to put all of them to the code.

I have just published first beta version of the SmartShot application, hoping such kind of software may be useful to somebody.

This project came from my irritation while using Windows 7's Snipping Tool. Although it is quite handy piece of application, I could not stand lack of text annotations, straight lines drawing and undo capability. Running Gimp each time I needed a screenshot of some window was inconvenient too. And last but not least, I just like writing software. So I decided to write my own tool which will meet my needs.
