Hi,
I'm not an expert or a developer but I have read all the man pages and =
allot
of literature ion smartmontools. =20
It seems to me that the smartmontools site says that smartd checks if it =
has
run in 30 min intervals... so the timing of the tests is not exactly
accurate to begin with. Did the test begin or end @ 12:38? What time =
does
your daily short test start?=20

Subject: [smartmontools-support]problem with smartd as windows service
Hi,
I run smartd as a windows service on my WXP machine. In principle it =
works
fine, but there is a problem with the timed execution of the tests.
This is the content of my conf file:
/dev/hda -m sysmsgbox -S on -o on -a -I 1 -I 194 -I 195 -s =
(S/../.././11|
L/../.././12)
As one can see I want the daemon to execute a long self test at about 12 =
=20
o'clock. Actually the test started today only at 12:38, although the =
machine
had been running already since hours with the automatically started =
service=20
smartd!
What's going on?
Marko
