I am trying to read SMART Log page 0xE0 using smartctl to see the status of
a SCT command.
I use the below command
sudo smartctl -l smartlog,0xE0
Does this command issue a SMART Read Log as speced by T13, the ATA

yes, "smartctl -l smartlog,0xE0" issues a SMART READ LOG with log
address 0xE0 (SCT Command/Status log) as specified by T13. For example
T13/2015-D (ACS-2) Revision 7, Section 7.54.7.
Other SCT related commands:
"smartctl -l scttempsts" issues the same command and prints the SCT
"smartctl -l scttemp" uses SCT protocol to print SCT Data Table
"smartctl -l scterc[,READ,WRITE]" uses SCT protocol to print [or change]
the Error Recovery Control (ERC) settings.
