Thanks -- I'll add it -- this is really useful! I see you have a number
of Attributes identfied that I didn't know about -- I'll add these into
the smartmontools Attribute lists as soon as possible.
A few quick comments:
(1) There is no Attribute 0 -- both the ATA and SFF specs are very clear
(2) You say: "Threshold is the lowest acceptable value for attribute. Any
value lower than threshold means decreased performance or even hard
This is actually a typographical error from one of the early SFF
documents. In fact as later SFF and all ATA documents make clear, any
value lower than OR EQUAL TO threshold means decreased performance or
even hard disk failure. I've also seen this on many disks where the
SMART status failed when the Attriubute equaled the threshold.
(3) I think your Attribute table might have gotten mis-numbered somewhere
around Attribute 219-220. For example 220 is 'disk shift', not 219.
(4) The Attributes in the low 200s don't agree with what I had thought
was the correct interpretation. Please compare to ataPrintSmartAttribName
near the end of
