Have you tried to run a short self-test: -t short on this Samsung drive, and waited a few minutes? It claims to be capable, though ATA-4 devices in principle don't have the capability. If you have tried this, and have waited a few minutes for the test to complete, could you please send output to the mailing list with -a -a -F samsung -a -F samsung2 so that I can compare them, please? Hi, Here are the results I don't notice much difference except the timestamps being weird. The identify packet device entry (#174) was from 301 seconds (5 minutes) after that power cycle. The machine was previously power cycled at 7794 hours (about 7 weeks previously).
