To whomever happens to read this message :), after installing this utility I found a number of my drives were not listed in your database, and so following the instructions I am sending along the information for them to you for inclusion. The drive listed in the hdc.txt file (a Fujitsu 15Gb drive) seems to have an enormous Power_on_Hours value so I am assuming that it is wrong, but I can't seem to figure out what the value should be (minutes, etc) perhaps you can provide me with some direction in that regard. Hi Christopher, FYI, this is an ATA-4 drive, and self-tests were only introduced in the ATA-5 specs. So while you may be able to run self-tests on this drive, you may also find that smartctl isn't able to interpret the results, since the drive may use a proprietary rather than standard format for the self-test log. Alright, thanks for the display tip, one quick last question, it appears as if most of my drives have a number of attributes of the Old-Age and/or Pre-Fail types. Is this cause for concern? Only one of the drives is brand new and none seem to have other problems (that I've experienced at least).
