Thanks for the reply. Sorry for the long delay in responding to this.
The drive seems to work with '-d sat' option but not with '-d
usbjmicron'. Attached please find the outputs of

smartctl -d sat -x /dev/sdf
smartctl -d usbjmicron -x /dev/sdf
