Hi Guys

I have been trying to get smartctl to work with Fujitsu drive, (Model: MHV2040B)
but it seems that it is not fully supported. Although I cannot share the specifications of this drive but I would like to get smartmontools compatible with this model. I have looked at the source code and have a basic understand of what is going on. It would be very kind of you guys to sort of guide me , or atleast get me started. The following output is what I get.

patrick:/tmp/sb/ctlr/smart # ./smartctl -a /dev/sdb
smartctl version 5.36 [x86_64-unknown-linux-gnu] Copyright (C) 2002-6 Bruce Allen
Home page is http://smartmontools.sourceforge.net/

Device: ATA      FUJITSU MHV2040B Version: 0029
Serial number:         NW96T6425A8D
Device type: disk
Local Time is: Mon Aug 28 14:01:33 2006 MDT
Device supports SMART and is Enabled
Temperature Warning Disabled or Not Supported
SMART Health Status: OK

Error Counter logging not supported
Device does not support Self Test logging
patrick:/tmp/sb/ctlr/smart #

The specs that I have seem to suggest that this model fully supports SMART. (It is a SATA drive which is being accessed through LSI SCSI Controller)

Thanks
