Hi guys.

First, a belated thanks for an awesome product, I used it for years and this is the first time I have a question.

Second, I built myself a Supermicro based data warehouse with eleven 2TB hard drives, Hitachi H3D20006472S, which are 7200 RPM SATA hard drives.

All of them run from a 3Ware 9750 Sata+SAS raid controller.

Linux driver for this is called 3w-sas. I am using CentOS 6.0, with 2.6.32 kernel if I recall correctly. The drives work just fine.

I tried faithfully to follow the smartmontools instruction for it, and still smartctl cannot access the hard drives.

smartctl --all --device=3ware,0 /dev/twl0
smartctl 5.39.1 2010-01-28 r3054 [x86_64-unknown-linux-gnu] (local build)

Smartctl open device: /dev/twl0 [3ware_disk_00] failed: No such device

Would anyone have a suggestion on how to monitor those hard drives?
