Hi!
The disk is part of a software raid 6 array of 3 disks (Hitachi 1 TB), and all raid devices are healthy. 
This could be my ignorance, but a standard RAID6 requires at least 4 devices.  Is the array in a degraded state or is this some fancy implementation of raid 6?  If its in degraded state backup the data before anything else.


Does this means that the pending sector belongs to the unpartitioned part of the disk ? Why is it still "pending" ?
In this context, the disk (rather: the SMART data) knows nothing about partitions on the disk.  All it knows is LBA locations.

It is still pending because the disk has encountered a questionable location on the disk--and until it is read again, it will remain at "pending".

Depends on how important the data is, would be how I would approach the situation...
