We have Transmeta 5800 processors, IB104+ Motherboard with Hitachi harddisks. We are frequently getting "DriveReady SeekComplete Error" and "BADCRC" Errors with 2.4.20 kernel. I ran badblocks but it didnt show any errors. It passed smartctl overal-health status and self assessment tests. But on more than one machine, smartctl reports following errrors. They are similar on many machines. The hardisks (and machines) are all fairly new (less than 2 months old). I am not sure what to make out of these errors. Any help is highly appreciated. Thanks.

Powered_Up_Time is measured from power on, and printed as
DDd+hh:mm:SS.sss where DD=days, hh=hours, mm=minutes,
SS=sec, and sss=millisec. It "wraps" after 49.710 days.

Error 188 occurred at disk power-on lifetime: 809 hours (33 days + 17 hours)
When the command that caused the error occurred, the device was active or idle.
