The product
<a href="http://www.cirque.com/desktoptouchpad/productsandorders/smartcat.aspx'>Cirque Smart Cat TouchPad</a> has a simple mouse protocol except for the more advanced features, but it does not work with the linux kernel.

This tool can be used to read data interrupt-wise from the Cirque Smart Cat USB Touchpad - being implemented as a `libusb' client - and control the pointer through the generic interface to the linux kernel `uinput' device driver.
