I've checked step-by-step guide but couldn't find a way to install SmartPOS on existing iDempiere 2.1 instance. How can I install SmartPOS 3.0 on iDempiere 2.1?

SmartPOS includes a lot of new active directory items: messages, traslation, references and so on; that curretnly are integrated within the Idempiere 2.0 database ..so you do not have an isolated OSGI plug that you can install within your own Idempiere yet.
Those AD changes have not isolated yet ... we will need a get small sponsorship to dedicate at least 1 week of effort for that purpose. If you are in a hurry, and you want to support or R&D work, we can quote that for you, if not .. just wait some months while we get the time & sponsors to perform that work.
Also please have in mind that we have tested our work with Idempiere 2.0, (windows and linux) but we plan ot have a new release compatible with Idempeire 2.1 in a couple of months.

When investigate issue i see something. maybe help.
now, configuration is must hard code with manual a lot.
i think better create a new configuration table for this plug-in
example for select a default use it's easy to use search filed than input id.
your code use timer for update GUI, i think better use server push.

We were busy working on 3.2 release (We are still loading the lastest file within the sourceforge servers), which is a big step individual in terms of new functionality, and I just saw your messages some weeks ago.
We tried to process some of your suggestions such as: simplify some of the configuration parameters. For future bug reports & feedback please use our forums, please open individual
topics for each task, so it is easier to track &read progress & reports.

2pack issues for developers
First of all, please notice that 3.1 was the first release where we are trying to create packouts and decouple our work 100% from Idempiere 2.1 ok ?, so other developers can integrate oor work to pre-existent idempiere distros ?
Our focus since 3.0 (rewriting everything from client/server to a 100% Web/OSGI model) has been to offer a reliable solutions for end users (with idempiere, postgres, backup &step by step procedures Included).
So for new developers coming to the project, if you work with our database seed /Idempiere 2.1 you should be ok, but you should understand that the size of our project is huge, this is not a trivial OSGi plugin, so the ideal decoupling process is not easy, still using best practices within our code ...
and assuming hat Idempiere packout work flawlessly we have tried many times to packout our components,
and installed them in isolated vanilla idempiere 2.1 but still now we have many issues that
the packout files do not include or manage properly (info windows, traslation) and other that you have mentioned before.
So far we have discovered that packout does not support to move all the AD objects ...
so it is a time consuming topics, still playing with xml files, and manual editing but resulta are not safer enough, where we will need volunteers to help/play and see how we can move our work out in a safer way, so far the process to packin our files in external idempiere 2.1, is tricky due to the previous topics.
Having said that, for these outsanding topics, we will need volunteers, and your feedback is welcome;
as a next stepI suggest to review the latests documents releases wiht 3.2, and also play with the 3.2 files (product installers)for windows &linux 64, and database seeds, so you get familiar with the newest feature, and after that, we can work together using the forums to test and improve/fix those packout issues ...
