    Hi guys,

    I am implementing SmarPOS and SmartERP in a restaurant. there are many menus and i am using one BOM for each menu. I think it will be appropriate to use Make-To-Order feature for this case. BUT, to do that, i need to change the Target Document Type from POS Order to Standard Order ;
    1. is it OK if i change default target docType to Standar Order in smartPOS ??
    2. or is there any other way for restaurant case beside make-to-order way?

    Please review your ERP (Idempiere ) concepts ... if you change the POS order to standard order, :

    POS orders will create shipping document + invoice documents while standard order will not.

    Hi Pedro,

    i refer to http://www.smartjsp.com/, in the section below ;

    Unidirectional synchronization (real time without manual intervention) -- POS – ERP -- tickets →

    "POS order : sales order + shipment + invoice +
    ..

    if the product included in this ticket has a BOM(Bill of Materials) SmartPOS will generated the required inventory changes for each material included there
    (1 level only) creating a production document (m_production)"

    other related additional explanation;
    "It support 1-level production process, to create sub-products with BOM bill of materials, for example: if you have a product such a Cocktail with a list of material: rum, water, vodka, when you order a cocktail in your POS, it generated the inventory changes for the ingredients (list of material)"

    so, it means if a product has a BOM, then POS Order : sales order + manufacturing order + shipment + invoice ..
    is it correct ?

    Hi Edwin ...

    The regular SmartPOS 2.xx integration that we implemented was just the basic product integration, what that means? if the manufacturing orders of the ERP affect a product price or stock after a BOM change, those resulting products will be synchronized to the POS stations if they belong to a POS product category.

    Other than that you use the regular ERP functionality.

    Hi Pedro

    In restaurant type, certain POS category products do not have any stock since they must be produced first when a customer order them. I wonder how to configure manufacture order before shipment. For example a pancake, it has a BOM/ list of materials perhap such as eggs, butter, flour and sugar.

    In SmartPOS , I made an exception to ignore stock so that this pancake can be sold without being stocked/produced first. After synchronized to SmartERP, there is an error in MM Shipment, when I post the transaction, because there is no stock for pancake.

    That's correct because POS Order = SO -> MM Shipment -> AR -> Cash Journal.

    Before MM-Shipment, it would be nice to have automatic manufacture order first.May be this configuration will work:
    1. BOM Type-Make-to-kit
    2. BOM Use-Manufacturing

    what do you think ?

    Hi Edwin ..

    As you mention BOM's are a common requirement for restaurants, however the basic SmartPOS 2.1 (client side based in OB pos) does not support them yet, becuase the original OB pos data model is too restricted.

    But the good news are that BOM's are included in our curent roadmap (3.1), nowadays SmartPOS 3.0 (OSGi-plugin 100% web - replacing the client-server-xml approach) is about to be released... I guess BOM's should be ready in a couple of months, stay tuned.

    Regards.

    Hi Pedro,

    Thats a good news, cannot wait to test it.

    fyi, we have been using openbravopos-pda module, smartpos-smarterp with some customize to meet the need of our business flow.
    - openbravopos-pda module used for taking order from customer
    - then smartpos only used by cashier to process payment base on the order taken from openbravopos-pda module, after payment received, print to kitchen or bar.
    on smartpos we have to disable stock available checking, because it should only reduce the BOM stock of the finished good/product.

    there are some problems on ERP side, we found some tickets missing from smartPOS send to smartERP. so, this affect to my ERP sales reports.
    can you figure out why this problem occur & how to solve it?
    and how to send back the missing tickets from smartPOS to smartERP ?

    many thanks for your help

    Regards,
    Edwin

    Hi Edwin ... Please report your request with specific information:

    SmartPOS version. Idempiere Version, rabbit mq ... step by step proedure .. log files in both ends .. and please double check that you do not have the outstanding messages within your queues ...you can also check outstanding xml messages that was not processed by any ERP config issues within the Smarterp .... (check notices) .. and you will see a reprocess button there .. to re-try the message process ....

    Regards.

    I cannot wait to see that neither, any news on 3.1 roadmap?. I guess you are not planning to implement that on asynchronous versión right? Anyhow BOM should happen completely in ERP part to maintain a good architecture. Edwin, did you find any workaround to BOM / Recipe Issues? I guess all restaurants need that funcionality, also there will be many of them, that cannot rely on stable internet connection for at least next 10 years i guess.

    You are rigth , We ahve not received much interest (0 sponsoring) from the asynchronous version so far .and the mainatnanece is a bit complex to extend the average ERP fucntions such as BOM's to the desktop POS ..but if you have any project/sponsorship in mind for specific requirements to improve the 2.x version let us nowso we can evaluate. ...

    Nowadays all our attention if focussed in the new 3.x releases (100% web/OSGi) ....We will publish a prelimanry roadmap for 2015 soon stay tuned.

    Regards,
