Sorry for making a opening another bug for this, but I couldn't comment to the original.

I don't know why it worked before, but the same problems are there again.
dbus-monitor fails to run:
$ dbus-monitor
Failed to open connection to session message bus: dbus-launch failed to autolaunch D-Bus session: Autolaunch error: X11 initialization failed.
The (virtual) server is running Fedora 11. I have access to it over ssh only.
Discussion
Ok, I think I solved this problem.
I removed /tmp/dbus-sib and /tmp/dbus-test directories. After that it started working again. I think it was a permissions issue.
Actually, this problem is related to from where I connect with SSH to the server. So it could be some setting in the SSH client that makes dbus work or not work.
It seems that X11 port forwarding needs to be enabled in order for DBUS to work over SSH. I hope this is now finally solved.
