This blog is all about the various developers’ tools and tactics involved with creating slot machine video games. It doesn’t matter which programming tools you use to develop the games. On this blog, we can discuss any of them that happen to be posted or asked about. I have a master’s degree in Computer Science and a master’s degree in Mathematics focusing on Probability and Statistics.
Both degrees were earned at MIT. I’m well versed in 18 different programming languages including Basic4Android, Java, CSS3, HTML5, C#, JavaScript, Delphi, SQL, Visual Basic, Eclipse, Assembly, and the various .NET frameworks. I’ve been creating these types of games for the past 16 years.
This all started for me when I was in my early teens and collecting comic books. My father came home with a brand new slot machine game. After losing a large number of times, I decided to figure out exactly how these things work. That particular “one armed bandit” earned its nickname which cost my comic book collection quite a lot. I was very thankful my father taught me electronics.
I took the machine apart to find out how it works in hopes of winning more. The good news was that I learned how the machine works. The bad news was that I couldn’t reassemble it. Naturally I was told “you broke it, you bought it”. Initially I swore vengeance against slot machines everywhere. Then I figured that was the wrong idea. So instead, I learned how to make a living off them.
While in high school, I consistently earned very high grades which later led to a full scholarship at MIT. While I was there, I learned the math and programming skills needed to make various slot machines. While I was at it, I created and operated several games which helped get other expenses paid for.
The fun part is that while I was in college, many of the students were constantly asking me about various developing methods. As it turns out, I understood things perfectly while others were struggling and I could explain things very clearly. Eventually it was Harvard University that offered me a part time job teaching Computer Science subjects.
From there, I’ve sold slot machine algorithms to various casinos in multiple countries after they passed the Chi-Squared test and some security testing; security had to be very strong in them. So I used my knowledge in mathematics to create encryption and decryption functions for each of the games I sold.
Here is my short post about myself with some of the nerd photos. Hope you'll like it or hate it. The main thing is not to remain indifferent ;)
