The project is not dead, it just works (well for me anyway, and no one has Asked for any features to be added, bugs to be fixed, etc, so submit them if you want them)

Durring the break, we plan to add support for local use. (Ie without ldap/samba/cups) and hopefully do some other nifty stuff!

I have found a wonderful new project, by the quanta people called kommander (http://quanta.sourceforge.net/main1.php?contfile=news#kmdr) which allows the easy creation of GUIs for command line programs. A new subdirectory called kommander-gui has been created, and there is a proof of concept one called user.kmdr.
Additionally, the beginnings of a firewall management (for server, and linux workstations)
