[sleuthkit-users] Malformed utf-8 character

I keep having an error:  "...malformed utf-8 character" at 
"/usr/local/sleuthkit/bin/sorter line 791"

Can anyone provide assistance on this matter?

Am I missing any information within my investigation by having these errors?

What do these errors mean?

Interesting.  Have you created any special category regular
expressions in the config file or are you just using the standard ones?  

If you are using the standard ones, it looks like the output of
running 'file' has some unicode values that Perl does not like.  What
version of Perl are you using?  Does it happen just a few times or
does it happen for each file in the system?
